ROK Army Special Warfare Command (특수전사령부)
ROK Armed Forces fitness test (체력검정) — men up to 25
The ROK Army Special Warfare Command (특전사), which includes the 707th Special Mission Group, recruits special-forces NCOs and selects from serving soldiers. Its selection standards appear in recruiting notices that we could not retrieve from an official server, so we do not use them. What the Ministry of National Defense does publish, as open data, is the full table of the armed forces’ fitness test: 2-minute push-ups, 2-minute sit-ups and a 3 km run, graded from 특급 (special grade) down to grade 3 by age. The calculator uses that official table for men up to 25 — grade 3, the lowest pass, as the minimum and 특급 as the elevated level. It is the general military standard, not the special-forces selection.

The test, event by event
| Event | Grade 3 (lowest pass) — men up to 25 |
|---|---|
| Push-ups in 2 min (팔굽혀펴기) | 48 |
| Sit-ups in 2 min (윗몸일으키기) | 62 |
| 3 km run (3km 달리기) | 15:36 |
Higher levels (e.g. competitive or elevated standards) and your gap to each are in the paid report.

- Grades for men up to 25: grade 1 — 64 push-ups, 78 sit-ups, 3 km in 13:32; grade 2 — 56, 70, 14:34. Below grade 3 (47 push-ups or fewer, 61 sit-ups or fewer, 15:37 or slower) is a fail.
- The table covers men only, in 13 age bands from 25 and under to 60 and over, and has no pull-ups. Ages 26–30: grade 3 is 46 push-ups, 60 sit-ups and 3 km in 16:06; 특급 is 70, 84 and 12:45.
- The 707th Special Mission Group draws its operators from Special Warfare Command personnel; it publishes no selection standards.

Questions
Is this the special-forces selection test?
No. It is the fitness test every South Korean soldier takes, with the official grade table. Secondary sources say the special-forces NCO recruitment test uses the same events and cut-offs plus pull-ups and a shuttle run, but we could not confirm this in an official notice, so we show only the official military table.
Why is grade 3 the minimum?
In the Ministry’s table grade 3 is the lowest passing grade; anything below it is marked as a fail (불합격). The top grade, 특급, is shown as the elevated level so you can see how far you are from the best result.
Where do the numbers come from?
From the Ministry of National Defense open dataset “연도별 장병 체력검정 기준 정보” (fitness test standards for service members), published on the Ministry’s open-data portal (OA-9490) and on data.go.kr (dataset 15083050, file of 18 June 2024). We downloaded all 233 rows from the Ministry’s server on 20 October 2026.
