The 601st Special Forces Group in Prostějov recruits only serving soldiers: applicants need at least two years of service, the secondary school leaving exam (maturita) and the paratrooper medical category. Selection has a two-day testing phase — physical examination and psychological diagnostics — followed by a five-day stress phase. The physical examination for combat units has a basic part (5 events) and an extended part (9 events), graded 1 to 3 with the same thresholds for men and women of all ages.

Entry only from the forces: a professional soldier (voják z povolání) or a member of another armed service, with at least two years of service (for professional soldiers, study at a military university counts; you may apply before the two years are up). Full secondary education with maturita, medical category "A – schopen jako výsadkář" (fit as a paratrooper), a clean criminal record and the prerequisites for a security clearance. There is no direct entry from civilian life.
Selection: a preliminary (administrative) phase, then a two-day testing phase at the 601st barracks in Prostějov (physical examination and psychological diagnostics) and a five-day stress phase testing physical fitness, mental resilience and personal qualities. You have three attempts in total. After passing and a decision by the commander comes a personnel interview.
Applying: send the .xlsx form by e-mail to the 601st personnel department at least 6 weeks before the date; invitations go out 4 weeks before, and testing-phase results usually arrive within 3 weeks. Published 2027 dates: testing phase 8–9 February and 15–16 March 2027, stress phase 17–21 May 2027.

Questions

Do I need grade 3 in every single event?

The guide says that in both the basic and the extended examination you must achieve a grade of 1 to 3, but it does not say whether this applies to each event or to an overall grade, nor how the nine extended events are combined. For staff and support units the same guide explicitly uses an average. The calculator takes the cautious reading: grade 3 as the minimum in every event, and a result exactly on a threshold counts as that grade.

Can I apply straight from civilian life?

Not to the 601st: it requires at least two years of service. The Special Forces Support Centre (CPSS) uses the same events with the same grade 1–3 thresholds plus grades 4 and 5, and it accepts civilians, who need grade 5 (serving soldiers need 4). The 601st guide publishes no age or height limit.
