Joint Task Force 2 (JTF 2) — Special Operations Assaulter
CANSOFCOM PFSE 1
PFSE 1 is the physical fitness screening evaluation for the JTF 2 Special Operations Assaulter trade. It is a step in the application process for CANSOFCOM selection, not selection itself: relative handgrip, 1.5-mile run, push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups and loaded squats, plus the Basic Military Swim Standard. Every event must be met; there is no points system.

Questions
Do the standards depend on age or sex?
No. The PFSE manual contains no age or sex adjustments; the same standards apply to everyone, and every single event has to be met.
How is relative handgrip scored?
Best left plus best right grip (kg, JAMAR dynamometer, 2 trials per hand) divided by body mass plus 20 kg of mission-essential gear. The pass mark is 1.00, shown here as 100 %: at 80 kg body mass you need at least 100 kg combined grip.
How do other CANSOFCOM trades compare?
PFSE 2 (CJIRU Technical Collection Operator, JTF 2 Coxswain) drops push-ups and the run and adds a 20 m shuttle run to level 8.0. PFSE 3 (CSOR Special Forces Operator) requires shuttle-run level 9.0, a combat swim test and a 12 km march with 35 kg in 2:24 or less.
