Federal Police entry fitness test (Exame de Aptidão Física, 2025 notice)
The COT (Comando de Operações Táticas), the tactical unit of Brazil’s Federal Police, recruits only serving federal police officers, and its internal selection thresholds are not published. The first hurdle is therefore the physical aptitude exam of the Federal Police entrance competition: under the notice of 20 May 2025 it is pull-ups, a standing long jump, a 50 m swim and a 12-minute run, with fixed pass/fail minimums for every police post. - The COT recruits only serving Federal Police officers through an internal selection whose physical thresholds are not published. To get there you must first pass the Federal Police competition for one of the police posts (Agente, Escrivão, Papiloscopista, Delegado or Perito) — the physical exam is the same for all of them.
- Exam rules: the candidate is fit only with the minimum in every event; fixed order with at least 5 minutes between events; 2 attempts at pull-ups, jump and swim, 1 at the run; swim times are rounded down to the full second. No points and no age bands. Women: flexed-arm hang of at least 15 s, jump 1.56 m, swim 64 s, run 1,800 m.

Questions
Is this the COT selection test?
No. It is the physical exam you must pass to join the Federal Police at all — a precondition for the COT. The COT’s own selection is internal and its thresholds are not public.
Do the minimums depend on age or post?
No. The 2025 notice uses one table for every police post and every age, with separate values only for men and women. The calculator shows the men’s values.
